Smokey's Scouts is a forest-friendly match 3 game that immerses players in the role of aspiring scouts. The game aims to raise awareness about wildfire prevention, tasking players with helping Smokey eliminate fire hazards during their journey. Through engaging mini-games, players not only progress through the challenges but also gain insights into Smokey's history, wildfire prevention, and safety protocols. As players successfully complete tasks, they are rewarded with badges and bear tokens, enhancing their abilities to support the scout team.

Drawn from the inspiration of Smokey Bear and the mission of the Mid Atlantic Forest Fire Protection Compact to promote wildfire prevention and safety awareness, Smokey’s Scouts is a captivating match 3 experience.

Smokey's Scouts was developed through a collaborative effort between Columbus College of Art & Design and the Mid Atlantic Forest Fire Protection Compact as part of a sponsored learning initiative within CCAD's Game Art & Design program. With valuable contributions from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the United States Forest Service, this prototype game was created to educate teenagers, young adults, and families about forest fire prevention and safety practices.
